A BRADFORD house fire which resulted in the deaths of two people is being "treated as suspicious".

Detectives are continuing to investigate the serious house fire on the Canterbury estate which resulted in the deaths of a man and woman.

Bradford District CID are working with West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to investigate the cause of a fire on Ringwood Road, Bradford, this morning.

Police were called by the ambulance and fire services to the property at about 6.38am. Attending firefighters located the bodies of a 63-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man inside.

They were confirmed to have died at the scene and post mortems will be conducted to establish a cause of death.

DI Suzanne Hall of Bradford District, CID, said: "We are continuing to investigate this serious fire in which a man and woman have lost their lives.

"The cause of the blaze remains under investigation but is being treated as suspicious.

"Officers are not currently for anyone else in connection with the matter and a full investigation with partners will take place into the circumstances of what took place.”
