A POPULAR Bradford Business treated mothers at a local care home to gifts and treats to mark Mother’s Day.

Owners of Kunafa Tea, decided to gift mothers at Shakespeare Court, with meals, flowers, cards and balloons to show their love and appreciation towards them.

Members from the Kunafa Tea team visited the care home, on March 25, to gift the meals to the women and participate in a Mother’s Day celebration, organised by staff at the home.

One of the restaurant owners, Hisham Al-Mahayni said: “We wanted to show our appreciation towards all mothers on Mother’s Day.

“It was a bittersweet moment as I have not seen my own mum since leaving Syria 10 years ago.”

Paul Chandler, home administrator of Shakespeare Court Care Home said:

“Shakespeare Court would like to thank Kunafa Tea for their generous gifts to our lady residents for Mother’s Day. Thank you from all of us.”

Naz Shah, labour MP of Bradford West attended the event to show her support and said: “It was so lovely to be part of Kunafa Tea’s beautiful initiative today as they gifted elderly mothers on Mother’s day with food and flowers.

"It's wonderful to see this Bradford business which was founded by Syrian refugees, give back to their local community. I would also like to thank all the key workers and care home staff that take such good care of our elderly.”
