The first official day of spring was Sunday, March 20 and the clocks sprung forward on March 27, and to greet those two significant events we were treated to a burst of lovely spring weather.

With the sun shining you could feel nature waking from its winter slumber. Gardens, hedgerows and roadside verges have patchworks of golden daffodils and primroses – which are always a cheerful and uplifting sight – as are banks of colourful crocus.

At Britannia Care, in Girlington, staff and residents, like the rest of us after a long winter, have been looking forward to spring and the sense of renewal and regeneration this much-loved time of year brings.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

More daylight and warmer days have a positive impact on everyone’s wellbeing. Being able to spend more time outdoors enjoying the fresh air and embarking on day trips gives everyone at Britannia Care a much-needed boost.

Britannia Care’s founder and director, Mr Choudhry Inayat Khan, has dedicated 31 years to building Britannia Care into a care provider with a reputation delivering top quality care to residents, often with complex care needs, from all over the country who have made Girlington their home.

Mr Choudhry Khan said: “Here at Britannia Care we feel it is important to mark out each of the four seasons, but especially spring. After the long dark days of winter, spring offers us a chance to feel rejuvenated.

“Both staff and residents feel energised. Just being able to make the most of what we have on our doorstep puts a spring into everyone’s step.”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Britannia Care is a purpose-built care home, designed and fully equipped to look after the needs of the people they care for – corridors and doors are wide, enabling the smooth passage of those who use a wheelchair or other supportive aids. There is lift access to all floors – again, designed to accommodate wheelchairs and supportive aids used by the residents.

Britannia Care director, Mr Anis Khan, added: “The environment here at Britannia is friendly and built around teamwork. This creates an environment which allows our team to deliver the care our residents deserve. A great atmosphere helps to deliver great care.

“We fully understand that our residents must be treated with dignity and respect at all times, and it is this approach that underpins our approach to care and Britannia Care.”

The Britannia Care’s multilingual staff have a long history of providing care to the area’s multicultural community, with 31 years of experience, knowledge and understanding in providing expert care to a diverse clientele.
