WEST YORKSHIRE Police is urging people to only call 999 in an emergency, after they were called by a reveller looking to gain entry to a nightclub last night.

Officers told the caller to go home as they had “clearly had enough” to drink.

West Yorkshire Police’s Contact Management Centre said: “No, we will not go out and tell bouncers to let you into a nightclub.

“We will tell you, though, to not ring 999 and go home as you've clearly had enough to drink. #Not999
