The University of Bradford’s UNIfy Festival is back for a second year, kicking off with a CommUNIty Open Day on Saturday March 26 - from 11am to 3pm.
The CommUNIty Open Day will bring research and projects from the University and the city to life.
Do you want to step inside a digital version of the city and some of our most loved buildings? Could you discover hidden treasures at the Victorian terrace archaeological dig? Would you like to make your own space satellite or build your own vehicle for mars out of LEGO® bricks?
The open day is for everyone and is full of FREE activities and inspiring talks. Come along and be amazed and inspired by the research and projects being delivered by the University and its partners that will change the way we live in Bradford and beyond.

The University has recently announced the launch of the Bradford-Renduchintala Centre for Space AI. The Centre will deliver research and education on themes such as space communications, earth observation and data science, and artificial intelligence.
Why do we need to research space? With other global issues such as climate change and health inequalities, should researching space take priority? What benefits does researching space have on people in Bradford and the wider district?
Join us at this exciting event where our host Harry Gration, journalist and broadcaster best known for presenting BBC Look North, along with a panel of experts from the space industry, will explore these questions and more.
When Worlds Collide: Arts and Academia

Would removing the language barrier enable new audiences to engage with research? What would academics learn from artists and vice-versa?
As part of UNIfy 2021 Kala Sangam and the University of Bradford launched a project to give academics and artists the chance to meet and discuss research projects and explore working together over a 12-month period.
On Monday 28 March join us at Theatre in the Mill to hear why we wanted to explore the connection between art and academia and watch the performances from the two partnerships that formed.
Voices from the Frontline: Care Homes, Dementia and Covid-19

When UK care homes were locked down in March 2020, no-one other than the staff who worked in them would be allowed back inside for almost a year. By then 40,000 residents would have died. What was life in care homes for people with dementia really like during that year? Based on original research carried out with 20 members of the dementia workforce, Voices from the Frontline is a piece of verbatim theatre which tries to capture the experience of this unprecedented year.
The performance will be followed by a panel Q&A chaired by John Middleton, known for his role as caring and sympathetic Rev. Ashley Thomas in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale.
What's the future of Bradford's Healthcare and how will it benefit you?

During this event we will take a look at some of the projects and initiatives that could make a difference to your life and the healthcare you receive in the future.
The Covid-19 pandemic has heightened the need to innovate to give healthcare in new settings and in new ways. During this event you will hear from a panel of experts that are responding to this need and planning healthcare for the future. You will also have the opportunity to ask your questions to the panel which includes:

What would your ideal future look like for Bradford and the UK? Take a moment to imagine there are no barriers to make change to the district, what would the future look like? Would you change education, healthcare, the environment we live in, the cultural activities you experience, the food you eat?
During this event a panel of people who love Bradford will consider not how things are but how things could be for the city and the UK.
The event will be hosted by Richard Shaw, Bid Director for Bradford 2025 and speakers include:

- Self-professed agitator and passionate Bradfordian Cllr Richard Dunbar
