POLICE have issued a warning to parents after a child repeatedly dialed 999 after being given a phone to play games on.
Police received “a few” 999 calls from the same number today, which they said took up a lot of operators’ time.
They added that incidents like this “happen far too much”.
West Yorkshire Police said: “A few 999 calls made from same number and taking a lot of operators’ time to deal.
“Managed to get back in contact to find it was a child given the phone to play games on.
“This happens far too much and can take a lot of time for us to deal.”
