OFFICERS from Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team have worked alongside neighbourhood wardens and enforcement officers to tackle issues around parking near Wibsey Primary School.

Over the course of this week, enforcement officers have issued a total of 10 tickets for offences in relation to double yellow lines and yellow zigzags, and PCSOs have also issued five fixed penalty notices in relation to obstructive parking.

Alongside this, neighbourhood wardens have been working tirelessly to educate and inform local residents on parking issues, as well as on other issues in the area, such as dog fouling.

This is on top of a combined effort from police and Bradford Council which has taken place over the last “four to six weeks”, seeing over 41 tickets from enforcement officers and over 30 from PCSOs over parking in Wibsey.

“Work will continue around parking issues in the Bradford South area, and those committing offences will be dealt with accordingly”, West Yorkshire Police – Bradford South said.

Labour’s Wibsey councillors, Cllr Ralph Berry, Cllr Dave Green and Cllr Sabiya Khan, said: “We have listened to the local community’s concerns about parking and driving on the roads around the primary school, so it’s been really positive to have the week of action.

"It’s been a real partnership approach with the police, school and council enforcement officers with our support as ward councillors, and long may that good partnership work continue in tackling any hotspots where there are issues of concern.

"We want families at Wibsey Primary and local residents to be assured that we are working together to tackle problems, and we are grateful for their help in seeking positive outcomes.”
