A BRADFORD woman has appeared in court charged with stealing a TV and Christmas tree from a city supermarket.
Mary Ward, 33, of Draughton Street, Bankfoot, faced one charge of theft from a shop.
She stole a television, a Christmas tree and assorted Christmas items, worth a total of £800, from Tesco in Halifax Road, Bradford, on November 29, 2021.
Ward was ordered to pay £400 compensation and was fined £120 for the offence. No order for costs was made.
An application was made for benefit deductions, with the sum to be recovered as £520. The court will apply for deductions from benefit.
She pleaded guilty to the theft from a shop charge and was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on March 12, 2022.
