A BUSINESS owner was left shocked when electrical items worth thousands of pounds were stolen in a burglary at his shop.

iPhones, iPads and tablets were taken from Zaid Durrani's Gadget Care shop on Bow Street in Keighley town centre by two people in the early hours of Friday morning.

CCTV footage shows the suspects each throwing a huge rock at the shop's entrance window.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

This is followed by the pair crawling under the shutter before going behind the counter.

Once there, an individual can be seen kicking through another door to access the items which are then placed into bags.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Police say they are investigating the incident and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

The store had only recently reopened after a refurbishment.

Mr Durrani, who also owns the nearby Phone Care shop, said: "It is a terrible situation. I am quite stressed with it all at the moment.

"It is the first time in my life this sort of thing has happened.

"Within three minutes and 40 seconds, they stole iPhones, iPads and tablets. They could not carry the heavy stuff like the PS5s we have.

"Six iPhone 13 Pro Maxs, which go for about £900 each, and iPhone SE 2020s were also taken along with other things.

"They smashed the front door with a mountain rock and went through security on the shutter.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

"The alarm went off through my mobile app. As soon as they put their head in the shop, the sensors went off.

"I woke up at 3.21am as my phone was going off. I told my missus to call the police, which she did straight away."

Mr Durrani will continue to lose money until the damage is fixed.

He added: "The shop will be closed until the new door and shutter is installed.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

"I have already ordered them, but they say it takes up to seven days. The whole frame was done in, so I have to change it all."

A spokesperson from the force said: "Police are investigating a burglary at a shop on Bow Street, Keighley.

"Suspects broke into the shop in the early hours of Friday morning and stole a large amount of electrical stock. Enquiries are ongoing.
