CHILDREN from Shipley C of E Primary School recently supported charity Shine by having their ‘Hats on for Hydrocephalus.’

The whole community came to the Otley Road school wearing their favourite and most interesting hats to raise both funds and awareness for those living with Hydrocephalus.

Hydrocephalus describes conditions in which fluid inside the head and spine accumulates in the head and raises the pressure on the brain, and is something part of the Shipley school community are living with.

The school raised over £100 at the end of the awareness week for Shine, a charity supporting those living with both Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida.

Gavin Hamilton, headteacher at Shipley C of E Primary School, said: "We know the struggles associated with these conditions and were delighted to be able to help, after being approached by one of our parents whose family have been supported by Shine.

"We are so proud of our children and families."
