THE Rotary Club of Bradford celebrated 100 years of Rotary service to the city with a special lunch at the Shipley Golf Club.
Fittingly there were exactly 100 in attendance with representatives from many other Rotary clubs in the area but also from as far afield as Bradford's twin club in Turkey.
Club president Mike Smith was accompanied at the top table by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Shabir Hussain, and the speakers, who were Rotarian David Ellis, chairman of the Executive of Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland, and Ed Anderson CBE, the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire.
A cheque for £2,000 was also presented to Ellen Blessington of the Giggle Doctors to fund provision of specially trained clowns who entertain sick children in Bradford Royal Infirmary.
