TWO free events featuring the best in local beer, food and music are being held in Shipley and Bingley.

The Sup beer festivals have been put together by Raven Staging, a Bradford-based events company, in collaboration with Bradford Council as part of the council’s Spring Back 2022 campaign which aims to get local high streets humming again.

The Shipley event will take place in the Market Square tomorrow and Sup Bingley on Saturday, March 19, in the Market Square. Both events run from noon to 10pm and will be held under a weatherproof stretch tent to ensure any drizzle won’t dampen the celebrations.

For Shipley, Sup has partnered with SALT Beer Factory, The Triangle, The Fox, Cap and Collar, Hullabaloo (Caribbean street food) and Il Pirata X Mozza Fella (pizza).

For Bingley, Sup has partnered with Wishbone Brewery, Goose Eye Brewery, Bini Brewery, The Peacock (bar and Indian street food), The Triangle and Il Pirata X Mozza Fella (pizzas).

Sup has also partnered with an array of local DJs who will be playing a mix of tunes to keep the crowd going into the evening.

As part of the Spring Back 2022 campaign and to prepare the town centres for the events, Bradford Council has also organised for the pavements in both Shipley and Bingley to be jet-washed. Extra litter bins and benches and other street furniture will also be installed.

The council has also commissioned lots of local artists to install colourful and creative artworks across the district as part of the campaign.

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “I’m pleased to see so many wonderful local businesses taking the opportunity to showcase their offer and I’m sure it’ll be a great day out for everyone.

“I’m glad that we’ve been able to give Bingley and Shipley town centres a spring clean in advance of the events as part of the campaign.”
