AGE UK Bradford District has recently appointed Joanne Dodds to a new role of Community Assistant.
Joanne is the Bradford District Armed Forces Champion as well as being a Labour councillor for Great Horton.
Joanne will lead on the charity’s Re-Connecting Veterans Project, funded by the Armed Forces Community Covenant Fund, which aims to support any older person that has served in the armed forces.
Joanne said: “This new project is a wonderful opportunity to reach out to the Veterans, find out what matters to them, what would make a difference to their life and work with them, to improve their quality of life."
She is looking forward to getting out and about, speaking to groups, organisations, charities and individuals to find out what veterans want and need.
“We want to reach as many veterans as possible to find out what they want and need, it’s so important we hear the voice of veterans across Bradford District,” Joanne said.
