YORKSHIRE Air Ambulance (YAA) has been named as Yorkshire Housing’s Charity of the Year for 2022.

Yorkshire Housing business analyst Mo Rahman put forward YAA after he witnessed the brilliant work they do.

The charity rescued his friend after he fell when they were on a walk in the Dales together.

The man suffered spinal injuries and the outcome could have been tragically different had YAA not been there to help.

Mo said: "It's generous donations from organisations like ours that keep this fantastic charity going.

"They need £12,000 each day just to keep both ambulances in the air, ready to come to the aid of people across Yorkshire."

YAA are planning an exciting calendar of events to raise £15,000. This will be matched pound for pound by Yorkshire Housing, bringing the total to £30,000.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance Regional Fundraising Manager (West and South Yorkshire), Vickie Bowden, said: “We are delighted to be chosen as Yorkshire Housing’s 2022 Charity of the Year and would like to thank them for their support.

"It is businesses and local communities such as Yorkshire Housing that are the life-blood of our Charity and we look forward to working with them over the next few months.”
