SOMEONE accidentally rang the police’s 999 number while they were committing crimes.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
We still can't believe this happened. Suppose it does help with evidence for CPS 🤣 https://t.co/gUcPYUYBf3

In its latest example, the team said: "Whilst out committing crimes, we suggest you don't accidentally call 999 talking about it. We heard everything…”
Previous calls to the contact centre have included someone called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them.
Another tweet sent by the service earlier this week said a man had called the 999 number to say that his oven was broken and it needed to be fixed.
