A FURTHER five Covid-19-related hospital deaths have been reported over the last seven days in Bradford hospitals.

According to the latest NHS figures, two further deaths were reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between March 5 and 11. One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: March 6 and 9.

Meanwhile, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust recorded three further deaths during the same period. Two further deaths were recorded from March 5 and one from March 6.

The total number of reported hospital deaths in the Bradford district now stands at 1,178 - 844 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals; 332 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Nationally, a further 627 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have died over the same seven-day period.

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."
