A GROUP of property professionals are today attempting to complete a 127-mile bike ride in a day from Liverpool to Leeds in a bid to raise money for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal run by Save the Children.

The bike ride started very early on Friday morning in Liverpool and follows the Leeds Liverpool Canal snaking its way through Wigan, Burnley, Skipton, Saltaire and finally 127 miles later Leeds City centre.

Ilkley based fundraiser Gavin Beevers said: “We have been deeply affected by the images of children suffering in Ukraine, so we are attempting a difficult bike ride to raise money for Save the Children. The charity helps kids across Ukraine in what are very troubling times.”

The current total of the fundraising efforts is already over £4,000.

“The generosity of Leeds professionals has been amazing so far – it certainly gives us the motivation to struggle through a long day of pain,” added Gavin “any funds we can raise will go to support the 7.5 million children who are now in danger in Ukraine through no fault of their own – it’s harrowing.”

The cyclists taking part in the charity challenge are Andrew Duncan from Opus North, David Pringle from Praxis Project Management, Jeremy Nolan from Glentrool Estates, Tim Brayshaw from Rainhall Developments and Gavin Beevers from Fox Lloyd Jones.
