A BRADFORD man has appeared in court charged with stealing almost £2,000 from three different people.

Paul Haggas, 41, of Eskdale Rise, faced three offences of theft from the person of another.

In the first count, he stole money, to the value of £735, belonging to an individual at Beamsley Road, Shipley, on January 1, 2021.

In the second charge, Haggas stole money, to the value of £760, belonging to an individual at Norman Avenue, Bradford, on July 14, 2021.

The third offence saw him steal money, to the value of £500, belonging to another person at Herschel Road, Bradford, on May 31, 2021.

Haggas stole a total of £1,995 from the three people in the incidents.

He was given a community order, including ordered to carry out 120 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months. Haggas was also ordered to pay three sums of compensation of £760, £500 and £150.

He was also given a rehabilitation activity requirement as part of his community order.

No order for costs was made by the court at his sentencing hearing.

Haggas pleaded guilty to all three charges when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on February 21, 2022.
