POLICE are on the hunt for a man after a schoolboy was attacked and left with facial injuries.

West Yorkshire Police have launched an appeal after an assault on a 14-year-old boy in the Honley area - just south of Huddersfield - on February 17.

It happened at about 3.30pm, at the junction of School Street and Church Street in the village.

The victim was attacked and suffered facial injuries.

He was treated for these at hospital.

One of the suspects involved in the attack was described as an Asian male in dark clothing.

It is believed he is around 18 years old.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault, or who may have information that could help the investigation.
