THE Bradford City Veterans enjoyed their day out in Silsden on Sunday, beating their Burnley counterparts 2-1.

Popular Brazilian Edinho opened the scoring for the ageing Bantams, slotting home a penalty.

And then Eccleshill United manager Lee Elam showed he's still got it on the field too, scoring to double City's lead in the second half.

Burnley scored a late penalty of their own to halve the deficit, but the Bantams did enough to win.

Of course, Sunday was about far more than just a football match.

Over £7,000 was raised for Pathways Bradford on the day, a charity which supports people living with dementia and their families.

It is a cause close to City hearts, after former Bantams player Allan Gilliver raised awareness during his own current battle with the disease.

Aside from goalscorers Edinho and Elam, other City legends like Dean Windass, Gary Jones and Jamie Lawrence turned up to play, on what was a wonderful day for football, friendship and fundraising alike.
