A GROUP of female representatives from the global chemical manufacturer Solenis visited Bradford Girls’ Grammar School today to mark International Women’s Day.

The representatives hoped to inspire and encourage more females to consider a career in manufacturing.

Students learnt about the various careers on offer within the company and routes to employment, including apprenticeships, work placements and their graduate programme.

Lucy Parr, the Apprenticeships & Graduate Programme Co-Ordinator said: “We wanted to take this opportunity to promote diversity within our workforce and in particular females in manufacturing.

"To do this we are trying to promote early careers through educational outreach and empower young people to make effective career choices.”

The Principal, Clare Martin said: “As a girls’ school we should, and always will, champion women’s success, so that our students see that there are no limitations to their achievements nor to the sectors in which they can make their mark.”
