FOUR Bradford males have appeared before a court charged with offences relating to a Bradford City away match.

The game in question was the Bantams’ league visit to Leyton Orient's Breyer Group Stadium on Saturday, August 28.

Luke Jones, 26, of Poplars Park Avenue, was handed a three-year football banning order after throwing a 'missile' onto the pitch.

A teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, was also guilty of the same offence and given an identical ban.

Both males were discharged conditionally for two years and had to pay £85 in court costs and a £22 victim surcharge.

In addition to not entering Valley Parade during a game, they cannot be within one mile of the stadium one hour before the kick-off and one hour after the final whistle. They must also not be within half a mile of Bradford Interchange in that period.

When City are playing an away game or the England national team are playing a home game, they must not enter onto the UK Railway Network or the London Underground Transport System without the permission of the British Transport Police.

For the above, they also must not be within five miles of the stadium where the game is taking place, between three hours before the kick-off and two hours after the end of the game.

On any day when the England men's team are playing within England, Wales or Scotland, they must not enter the town, city, or parish boundary wherein that fixture is being played, between eight hours before and until eight hours after the scheduled kick-off time.

Both males appeared at East London Magistrates' Court on February 25.

Stephen Firth, of Chelker Close, Clayton Heights, was in court for the same offence on the same day.

The 25-year-old, who pleaded not guilty, was remanded on unconditional bail until June 6 where he will appear in front of Stratford Magistrates' Court.

Back in January, Samuel Corbett, of Ivy Court, Ilkley, was in court in relation to possessing cocaine and assaulting an emergency worker at the match.

The 22-year-old was remanded on unconditional bail until April 11 where he will also appear in front of Stratford Magistrates' Court.

At the time of the match, the Telegraph & Argus reported on the ugly scenes at the front of the away section following the home side’s first goal in their 2-0 win.

Stewards were seen ejecting fans after the trouble came as Orient striker Harry Smith picked up and flicked a lighter that had been thrown onto the pitch.
