A FILM which was made in Bradford has been nominated for two BAFTA awards.
Ali & Ava (pictured) has been nominated in the Outstanding British Film and Leading Actor categories.
Adeel Akhtar, who stars as Ali alongside Claire Rushbrook as Ava, is up against the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The film showcases the story of Ali and Ava, who are both lonely for different reasons and meet through their shared affection for the child of Ali’s Slovakian tenants.
Written and directed by Clio Barnard and produced by Tracy O’Riordan, the drama-romance has received positive reviews.
The film, which was made in Bradford and supported by the Bradford Office at UNESCO City of Film, is the third film Barnard has set in West Yorkshire.
