IT’S full steam ahead for Skipton’s Beer Engine bar which has recently reopened following an extension to the ground floor of the premises.

Proprietors Steven Gregory and Adam Davies have had the Beer Engine since September 2020.

They have over 30 years’ experience in the pub trade, Adam having worked in pubs around Skipton, the Lakes and Leeds in his time, and with Steve having managed the Beer Engine for the previous owners for about five years before the business partners bought it.

Adam said: “We recently won “pub of the season” from keighley CAMrA as well as being in the Great Beer Guide 2022. The pub used to offer six cask and a range of bottles, wines, cans and ciders. We have now added six craft keg lines, offering 12 draft beers. We don’t serve food except for crisps and nuts.”

The micro bar closed on January 31 after planning permission was given to extend into the property next door in Albert Street.

It reopened on February 25 offering its regular customer base a newly refurbished space for enjoying a drink.

We shut on January 31st 2022, extended the property into next door, creating a lovely new, cozy space and reopened it on 25th February 2022.

It doesn’t service food but you can get crisps and nuts.
