A BRADFORD man caught with a spanner as an offensive weapon is to be sentenced next week.

Arshad Khan, 53, of Woodview Terrace, Bradford, admitted possessing an offensive weapon in a public place when he appeared before Kirklees magistrates last month.

The incident took place in August 2021 at Oakroyd Terrace in Manningham.

Khan's case was adjourned to March 9, at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court, for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

He was remanded on bail and must not visit Punjab Stores, at Oakroyd Terrace.

Khan was initially charged with common assault, in relation to the same incident, and had pleaded not guilty.

At the hearing last month, no evidence was offered by the prosecution and the matter was dismissed.
