THESE are the ten men, fined, banned and jailed so far this year for motoring offences committed on one of Bradford’s busiest roads.

The men have all been dragged before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court in 2022 for offences committed in Tong Street.

These include drink and drug driving, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified, and they faced a range of punishments for their various criminal acts.

First up was a man caught drink driving on December 12. Darren Oakes, 43, of Furlong Lane in Halesowen, West Midlands, blew 62mcg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 35mcg.

He also admitted driving without a licence and driving without insurance in court on January 5, as well as committing a further offence while serving a suspended sentence.

He was banned from driving for 17 months and fined £120 for the driving offences and £40 for breaching his suspended sentence, and also told to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.

In two days later on January 7 was Jack Savage, 20, of West Park Terrace, Batley, who admitted two counts of drug driving on July 27.

Police found him to have cocaine in his system above the legal limit in two tests, and he was banned from driving for a year and fined £500, and also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £50.

In on January 20 was Azar Ali, 32, of Grangeway, Allerton, who was found to have failed to comply with road signs in Tong Street on July 13, and he was fined £220, had three points put on his licence, and told to pay costs of £90 and a surcharge of £34.

Shazad Saleem was in court on January 24, where it was found he drove without due care and attention on July 17.

Saleem, 44, of Duchy Drive, Heaton, was handed four points on his licence, fined £220 and ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £34 surcharge.

The day after, Sartaj Azizi, 50, of Steadman Terrace, off Leeds Road, admitted driving without insurance on July 6, and was banned from driving for six months due to “repeat offending”.

He was also handed a £120 fine and told to pay £110 costs and a £34 victim surcharge, with his exceptional hardship plea dismissed.

On January 27, Jahngir Khan, 18, of Burnett Avenue, Little Horton, admitted dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance, and failing to stop for police on July 5.

He was handed a 12 month community order, requiring him to do 100 hours unpaid work and 15 days of rehabilitation activity requirements, and was banned from driving for 15 months.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £95.

Next up was Saif Butt, 25, who currently resides at HMP Moorland in Doncaster, who admitted drug driving and driving while disqualified.

He was caught on June 23 driving while disqualified, and also produced a positive test for cannabis above the legal limit.

He was jailed for nine weeks, banned from driving for three years, two months, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £128 victim surcharge. Magistrates said he had a “flagrant disregard for court orders”.

In on February 10 was Zdenek Husar, 42, of Highfield Road, Doncaster, who was found proven to have driven in Tong Street on December 14 without insurance.

His sentencing has been adjourned until March 11 to consider whether he should be banned from driving or not.

A day later was Jason Greenall, 44, of Cragside Walk, Horsforth, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance, and was banned from driving for six months.

He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Finally was Asif Khan, who was in on February 15, who was found to have driven without a seatbelt on February 16 last year, and also running a red light on March 22, 2021.

Khan, 37, was handed three points and fined £330, and told to pay costs of £110 and a victim surcharge of £34.
