A FIRE broke out at Bradford College this afternoon, causing damage to a classroom.
Firefighters were in attendance following the blaze at the Lister Building, which broke out shortly after 1.30pm.
The fire was on the first floor of the building, and was “quickly dealt with” by fire crews.
No one was injured.
A Bradford College spokesperson said: “There was a small fire in one of the art classrooms in our Lister Building today, which was quickly dealt with by fire services.
"The building has been evacuated to ensure student safety. No one has been injured.
"We are working with learners on site to organise for classes due to be held in the Lister Building this afternoon.
"There has been small, superficial damage to the classroom and some smoke damage, but we intend for the Lister building to be open as usual tomorrow.”
A West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 1.35pm today to a first-floor fire in the Lister Building, Bradford College, West Brook Street.
“Crews from Bradford, Fairweather Green and Shipley fire stations attended.
“The incident is being investigated."
