THE Covid-19 vaccination clinic tent constructed in Ivegate behind Rimmington’s Pharmacy has been taken down.

The temporary structure for the pharmacy's vaccination centre was set up around a year ago when the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out began.

Since then, thousands of people have been given their first, second and third doses of the vaccine in the clinic.

Rimmington's is still providing Covid-19 vaccines, but there is now no need for the tent at the back of the store as people are not required to wait for 15 minutes after having their jabs.

It is one of a number of walk-in vaccine clinics, as well as bookable clinics at doctors surgeries, around the district.

A quarter of people in Bradford aged 12 and over remain totally unvaccinated (24.7 per cent).

A further 31 per cent have not had their second dose, and less than half of people (47 per cent) have had their booster jab.

People can check where walk-in clinics are open every day by visiting the Bradford District & Craven Clinical Commissioning Group website.

People can also book their jab by visiting the NHS England website or by calling 119, with jabs available at the following centres:

  • Rimmington's Pharmacy
  • Fagley Pharmacy
  • Barkerend Health Centre
  • Asda Pharmacy, Rooley Lane
  • Holme Wood Pharmacy
  • Cohen’s Chemist, Little Horton Lane
  • Medichem Pharmacy Wibsey & Queensbury, Fair Road
  • Leylands Lane Pharmacy
  • The Rockwell Centre, Thorpe Edge
  • Allerton Pharmacy
  • Silsden Medical Practice
  • Airedale Hospital
  • Oxenhope Pharmacy

Those who have not yet had a Covid-19 vaccine – first, second or third – are urged to get their vaccines as soon as possible to give themselves the best possible protection against Covid-19.

The vaccine has been proven to reduce the danger of death or serious illness from the virus, and also reduces transmission.
