A UKRAINIAN woman living in Bradford has urged people to donate supplies on Wednesday, but certain things are not needed.

Nina Peacock, who comes from the Eastern European country, made a Facebook post earlier this afternoon with details of how people can help those in Ukraine.

It is currently in the midst of a brutal invasion from Russia, with many people being forced to evacuate their homes and country to safety, as troops descend.

Ms Peacock explained that people wanting to support Ukraine can donate specific items at the Polish Roman Catholic Church, off Edmund Street, near the centre of Bradford on Wednesday, March 2.

This donation point will be open between 9am and 7pm, before vans filled with the items will head off to Ukraine.

Ms Peacock has also said she can arrange to collect from people personally, or at a collection point closer to them, if needed.

There are certain items that are not needed, according to Ms Peacock.

She revealed her sister has crossed the border to Poland and that on the borders there are already plenty of clothes.

Ms Peacock also urged people not to bring toys, books or shoes to the donation point, as these are non-essential at this point and she said there is "no room for these on the run across Ukraine."

Ms Peacock's friend contacted the T&A about the donation point and explained the clothes and shoes they have are already building up and wanted to make sure people bring along the correct items.
