A BOMB disposal squad rushed to a house after a grenade was found there.

West Yorkshire Police was called to a property on Brantcliffe Drive, in the Baildon area of Bradford, this morning.

It was to reports that a suspected hand grenade had been discovered at the house, which was near to the road's junction with Acre Rise.

Police quickly put a cordon in place and a bomb disposal unit (EOD - Explosive Ordnance Disposal) was deployed to the scene.

The road was shut from 11.40am, according to the AA.

The bomb team were able to remove the grenade and confirmed it was not live.

Police have now reopened the road and removed the cordon.

A full statement from West Yorkshire Police said: "Police attended at a property on Brantcliffe Drive, Baildon, following a report that a suspected hand grenade had been found.

"A cordon was put in place while the EOD attended at the scene.

"The grenade has now been removed and the scene has been lifted."
