Pictured above is a collection of rooftops overlooking Bingley’s Main Street, but what was the year?

The memory-stirring picture, without a date, was taken by one of our T&A photographers before the demolition crews moved in on Bingley's town centre.

In the middle, you can see the area on which now stands the Bingley Arts Centre, and to the right, popular clothing outfitters O.S. Wain, the Valuewise store, and the Old Library, now a wine bar.

The positioning of the old buildings and their individuality was considered a delight to fellow artists, strollers, and photographers alike.

Over the years, Bingley may have lost some of its Victorian architecture, but the town has still retained much of its character and charm.
