A MALE was arrested after a 75-year-old pedestrian died following a collision with a van in West Yorkshire.
The fatal road traffic collision occurred on Westerton Road, Tingley, Leeds at about 4.10pm on Sunday.
A green and grey Citroen Berlingo van, which was travelling south west, hit a man who was crossing the road.
The man suffered serious injuries and later died in hospital.
The male driver was arrested from the scene and remains in police custody.
The Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) would like to speak with anyone who has information.
Sergeant Mick Kilburn of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident in which a man has sadly lost his life.
“Anyone who saw what happened or who saw the van beforehand or has footage of the incident is asked to contact the MCET on 101 referencing police log 1176 of February 20.”
