A huge tree has fallen down on a main road in Bradford as a result of Storm Franklin.

The tree fell on Sunday evening and came as a 'surprise' to resident, Salim Rahman, who lives in the house behind.

He said: "I came back from seeing my new grandson and I couldn't believe my eyes.

It came as a shock to me but luckily we weren't home when it happened, and my family were out."

"Now we've just got to wait for it to be removed, luckily it didn't fall on anyone or anything."

At present, the tree is blocking a stretch of the street on Toller Lane and the large tree roots have pulled up the ground beneath.

Mr Rahman said he reported the incident to the Council this morning as the tree is on the pathway outside of his home, but it could be a two to three hour wait before it gets removed.
