A road has been closed tonight after a lorry struck an historic monument near the border of Bradford and Kirklees.
The HGV hit the Oakenshaw Cross , which was already awaiting repairs from a previous accident, late this evening.
A Kirklees Council tweet said: "We’ve had to close Wyke Road at the junction with Syke Lane and Cross Lane in Oakenshaw. This is due to a HGV hitting the cross monument.
"A diversion is in place: Westfield Lane, B6379 Bradford Road, A641 Huddersfield Road, Cleckheaton Road and vice versa."
