A Cbeebies guest presenter has been included in the Radio Times 100 list for creating change in entertainment.

George Webster, 21 from Rawdon started work as a guest presenter from the Cbeebies Play House and became the first presenter with Down’s Syndrome on children’s TV.

An actor, dancer, presenter, public speaker and ambassador for the disability charity Mencap, Webster was announced as a presenter in September.

George said:"I’m loving being part of CBeebies, it’s a dream come true. Being in the top 100 list is amazing and I am so chuffed.

"By being in TV, I hope people will start to see people like me as being part of society. We exist and deserve equal representation. Even though there has been some improvement in the media, there is much more to do.

"When I was young there weren’t any people with a learning disability or Down Syndrome on the TV. The fact that this is changing is brilliant. I know that kids of all shapes and sizes now see me on the TV and for some I am a role model.

"There are so many talented people with a learning disability. Look at the 18 myth busters launched by Mencap this week! This is just the start of change I hope. We are all one big family and we are all not that different. However you look, whoever you are, we all deserve to be seen”

George has worked hard to show that people suffering from Down’s syndrome are just like everyone else and has launched a campaign called Myth Busters, with Mencap.

He wants to create better representation for people with disabilities in the media.

A myth George wants to bust is people with Down's Syndrome are always happy, when that’s untrue. People with Down’s Syndrome experience a whole range of emotions just like everyone else.

George hopes to gain better media visibility for people suffering from disabilities and create awareness from a young age.
