A MAN is running at least 5km every day for a year to raise funds for a Bradford district mental health organisation following the death of two family members.
Harry Marshall, 24, is running a total of at least 1,825km over 365 successive days in memory of his brother and mother.
It follows the sudden death by misadventure of Harry’s brother, Tom Marshall, who played for Oxenhope Recreation Football Club, aged 25 in October 2019.
Their mother Alison then died in July 2021.

Harry, of Oxenhope, now wants to raise £3,650 for It’s Worth Talking About, which was set up by Ryan Anderton, of Keighley, in March 2020 from Hop on Worth micro pub in Keighley, following Tom’s death.
Harry started the running challenge on Tom’s birthday, February 16, and is aiming to complete it on February 16, 2023.
Harry says the total distance he is aiming to run is the same as going from Keighley all the way to Rome.
He is aiming to take his running challenge global in a few weeks as he is set to move to Sydney, Australia.
Harry said: “We’re a tight-knit family. I was very close to Tom.
“’It’s Worth Talking About’ started in memory of Tom.
“My mum had been ill for a few years. She had been in and out of hospital.
“It’s a big challenge. When I’m doing each run it does help to think about them and why I’m doing it.
“It will help for my own mental health.
“It will give me something to aim for each day. I’m sure after doing it for a few days, I will start to ache.
“I have a few people who will come on board with me for the runs to break it up a bit.
“I’m hoping to move to Australia in the next month or two, so I will be doing it over there.
“I’m trying not to think about the challenge as a whole. I’m taking each day as it comes. It’s more injuries I’m scared of than anything else.”
Harry’s online fundraising target has got off to a great start, as his online page raised £1,000 within the first 24 hours it had been set up.
It’s Worth Talking About run weekly groups for men and women in sites across the Bradford district including Keighley, Haworth and Queensbury.
The group set up more groups in towns across the Bradford district last month.
