THERE is major disruption on the rail network this morning due a tree caught in overhead wires in the Keighley area. 

All lines are blocked and services between Leeds and Skipton are currently suspended.

National Rail says: "Replacement road transport operated by S-Line, Bibby's, Mario's, J&B and Ross Travel is running at the following times:

"From Shipley via all stations to Skipton operating every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour.

"From Skipton via all stations to Shipley operating every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour.

"Please be advised journey times will be extended by around 45 minutes when using road replacement transport.

"Disruption is expected to continue until 12pm."

Northern says: "Due to an object being caught on the overhead electric wires between Shipley and Skipton all lines are blocked.

"Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes. Disruption is expected until 12pm.

"There is overhead electric wire damage and a tree on the line in the Keighley area. As a result, trains are currently unable to operate between Shipley and Skipton.

"Effect on service: Leeds to Skipton - Services currently suspended in both directions until further notice.

"Leeds to Lancaster/Morecambe/Carlisle - Where possible these services will operate to and from Skipton.

"The routes between Bradford Forster Square and Leeds and Ilkley and Leeds/Bradford Forster Square are not affected by this issue."
