A BRADFORD man is set to go on trial after making his first appearance in court accused of possessing 69 indecent images of children or bestiality.

Ayaz Ahmed, 27, appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates Court on February 4 charged with four offences.

It’s alleged that Ahmed, of Newburn Road, Little Horton, possessed a number of photos and videos depicting child sex abuse and also intercourse with animals.

He appeared on three charges of making an indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child.

The first related to 38 Category A images – made up of 25 moving images and 13 still photos, which were found on November 2, 2020, when Ahmed was 26 years old.

The second count, from the same date, covers 19 Category B images – three videos and 16 stills – while the third includes six Category C images – two videos and four photos.

In the fourth charge, he stands accused of possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying an act of intercourse with an animal. This relates to six videos portraying said act.

Due to the nature of the alleged offences, the case was sent to Bradford Crown Court by magistrates for a trial by jury. Ahmed made no plea in the hearing.

Ahmed has been ordered to next appear at court on March 4, and in the meantime has been granted unconditional bail.
