St Bede's & St Joseph's Catholic College's Ignis site, in Cunliffe Road, Manningham, which is the school's Maths and English block, is closed today due to significant damage to its roof. Their Key Stage 3 students (Years 7, 8 and 9) will remain at home today.

The school's Ardor site is open as normal to Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (years 10, 11, 12 and 13).

Two large sheets of steel have come loose at the apex of the roof.

In its confirmation of the closure, as part of the Bradford - Daily Notification of Emergency School Closures/ PTS Status, the school's statement added: "With the weather forecast for tomorrow indicating strong winds, this creates a significant and unpredictable risk across the site.

"We are working with the College architect who agrees that the roof presents considerable risk to anyone present on site.

"Urgent repair has been arranged for tomorrow, however, we do not yet know how long this will take.

"We will update you as soon as we have further information.

"If this situation continues for more than one day, teachers will set work on Microsoft Teams. Thank you for your continued support."
