A RETROSPECTIVE planning application to turn a former mill site into a HGV park has been submitted to Bradford Council.

Paramount Logistics Specialists, set up in late 2019, currently uses a site at Great Horton Industrial Estate on Cooper Lane to park its vehicles.

The site was the former homes of Ashley Mills, until that building was demolished many years ago.

The location was one used as the home of a popular market, although it has more recently belonged to a neighbouring vehicles dismantling company.

Paramount already uses the site to park its fleet of HGVs, and has asked for permission from Bradford Council to make that use official.

Development of car park site is first step in breathing new life to Bradford mill

The application says: "The business started off by having a fleet on four HGV lorries which now consists of 12.

"These lorries are distributing customer goods all over the country. However when not in use the lorries are parked in a suitable location at a base.

"All the lorries are Euro 6 compliant.

"We believe the proposal is a vast improvement to the previous site business of vehicle dismantling operation where there was most likely noise polluted from stacking up of cars, breaking them for spare parts and movement of forklifts."

A decision on the application is expected in late March.
