1. Captain Tom charity reported to be under investigation

It was reported that The Captain Tom Foundation is being investigated by the Government charity watchdog, after releasing its accounts on February 7.

The charity, set-up in June 2020 to continue the fundraising efforts of Keighley-born Captain Sir Tom Moore, published its first audited accounts last week.

4. Housing plan in Calverley where residents would enter via someone's driveway

Plans have been submitted to build four new detached homes on a patch of land surrounded by existing homes in Calverley.

5. Man jailed after attacking Bradford taxi driver and NINE police officers

A man has been jailed for 19 months for a drunken and drug-fuelled string of assaults that included attacking a Bradford taxi driver and nine of the city’s police officers.

Jonathon Withey committed four sets of offences in nine months, spitting at the height of the coronavirus pandemic and punching and kicking his victims while on prison licence and then on bail.

6. Teen left seriously injured after axe assault in Bradford

A teenager was left seriously injured after a group of eight males assaulted him with a weapon, believed to be an axe, in Bradford.

It is reported that around 8.10pm on Tuesday, February 8, the unknown males began chasing a 16-year-old boy in Ramsden Avenue.

8. Woman's car flips onto roof after Haworth Road (B6144) crash

A woman had to be rushed to hospital after her car flipped onto its roof in a horror crash.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a collision on Haworth Road (B6144), in the Daisy Hill area of Bradford, at 9.11pm on the evening of February 6.

9. Royal Mail first and second class stamps to be scrapped from January 2023

Brits have been warned that their ‘1st’ and 2nd’ class stamps will be unusable from January 2023 with some set to be thousands out of pocket.

Royal Mail will introduce new "reinvented" stamps after a successful trial of the new designs which include a special barcode.
