RESIDENTS in Shipley can find out more on the town being handed £25 million to spend transforming the area as part of Government’s commitment to regeneration and job creation at two events.

The cash from the Town Fund, announced last year, spent on capital projects, designed to improve connectivity, land use, economic and cultural assets, as well as skills and enterprise infrastructure in the town.

The team behind the 'Our Town Shipley' project will be holding events for residents to meet them and find out more.

These events will take place on Thursday, March 3, between 4pm and 7pm, at Victoria Hall (The York Room), Victoria Road, Saltaire. The second will take place on Saturday, March 12, from noon to 3pm, at Kirkgate Centre, Kirkgate, Shipley.

Residents can also have their say on how the £25m funding can be used to deliver their priorities in the community.

Shipley MP Philip Davies, along with business leaders, community stakeholders and representatives from Bradford Council, made up the Town Deal Board and submitted the Shipley Town Investment Plan and their proposed schemes to Government for consideration before it was approved.
