A MAN from the Bradford district has been jailed for stealing a bank card during a burglary.

Ben Green, 34, of Stephenson Drive, Silsden, was jailed for nine months for a total of four offences.

He was committed to prison for six months for one count of burglary dwelling and theft - no violence.

He entered as a trespasser a dwelling in Stephenson Drive, Silsden, and stole a Halifax bank card belonging to another person, on February 1, 2022.

Green was committed to prison for one month, consecutive to the first offence, for fraud by false representation - Fraud Act 2006.

He committed fraud in that he dishonestly made a false representation, presenting a bank card, intending to cause, or expose, another person to risk of loss. The incident took place at Kirkgate News, Kirkgate, Silsden, on February 1, 2022.

Green was committed to prison for one month, to run consecutively, for one count of fraud by false representation - fraud act 2006.

He committed fraud in that he dishonestly made a false representation, namely presented a bank card, intending to cause another person loss, or expose that person to a risk of loss. It took place at a petrol filling station, Keighley Road, Silsden, on February 1, 2022.

Green was also committed to prison for one month, to run consecutively, for possession a controlled drug of class B - cannabis/cannabis resin, on February 2, 2022.

He was jailed as the offences were deemed so serious because the offence was aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending.

Green pleaded guilty to all charges when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates' Court on February 3, 2022.
