A CHANGING of the guard could soon be afoot at Bradford Bulls, and George Flanagan Sr could not be more delighted.

The 35-year-old hooker is entering his twilight years as a rugby league player, but is still highly-regarded by head coach John Kear, having started Bulls' opening two Championship games.

But it might not be long before Kear is considering the veteran's son George Flanagan Jr for selection too.

The teenager has come through the academy system and is highly regarded by the club, so much so that he has been selected in their reserves squad for today's friendly against Midlands Hurricanes at Odsal.

And it was a proud moment for his dad earlier this week, as father and son got the chance to share a Bulls training session together.

The delighted 35-year-old tweeted: "So tonight’s training was a bit different…

"Got to share it with my son. Got to say it’s a special feeling for us as a family as well as him.

"He’s worked his socks off to get where he is, long may it continue, and good luck in reserves on Saturday son."
