POLICE have said a crash between two HGVs on the M62 caused a collision between two cars on M62 today.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Officers were called to reports of two collisions on the M62 east close to junction 26 at around 12:05pm this afternoon.

"It is reported that two HGVs were involved in a collision, which then caused two cars, a Vauxhall Vivaro and Citroen Berlingo to collide.

"No-one suffered any injuries."

Around midday, National Highways Yorkshire tweeted: "Lanes 1,2 and 3 (of 4) are closed on the M62 eastbound between Junction 26 (Bradford) and Junction 27 (M621 Leeds) due to a collision."

They later tweeted that although all lanes had re-opened, there was six miles of residual congestion causing 60 minute delays.
