A FIRE at a cricket pavilion in Bradford is being treated as arson, West Yorkshire Police said today. 

Firefighters from Fairweather Green, Shipley, Bradford and Bingley were called to Allerton Cricket Club, on Greenbank Road, at 7.25pm yesterday where the pavilion was ablaze.

They were at the scene until just after midnight, a West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said. They used a large jet and a hose reel to bring the fire under control.

Police were also in attendance after the alarm was raised by the fire service.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Road closures were put in place while the fire was put out.

"The incident was treated as arson and enquiries remain ongoing.

"There were reports of youths having been seen in the area around the time of the fire.
