ONE of the founders of a Bradford food kitchen which provides hot food and food parcels to people who are struggling financially has spoken of a high demand in those in need through the rise in the cost of living.

Abdul Satar, one of the founders of Bradford Community Kitchen was speaking on Good Morning Britain this morning.

He said the kitchen has received a high volume of calls from people since the announcement of the energy rises and that they were 'finding it hard to keep up with all the deliveries because of the huge demand'.

Millions of people are facing higher energy costs after the energy regulator's new price cap, which comes into effect in April, is likely to add hundreds of pounds to people's annual energy costs.

The Government’s newly-announced Energy Bill Rebate was rolled out earlier on Thursday to try and “cushion the blow” of rising energy costs – which will be coupled with a 7.25 per cent increase in inflation in April.

The £9 billion package will provide each family with £350 which will include a one-off repayable £200 discount and a £150 rebate on council tax bills.
