RESIDENTS of an area in Bradford have vented their anger after an individual went on a spree of scratching their cars.

CCTV footage shows a hooded person dressed in what looks like a long coat and sliders using an implement to damage several vehicles on Moorside Road in Eccleshill.

The incident highlighted in the video happened at around 11.30pm on Friday, January 28 - the same night Storm Malik hit the city.

Firstly, the suspect targets a Fiat 500 outside the Bradford Industrial Museum before proceeding to pass a Volkswagen Golf on the other side of the road and scratch the Audi behind it.

Another car falls victim to vandalism shortly after in the clip.

Police say they are investigating reports of damage caused to vehicles on the road over a three day period, between January 28 and 31.

Residents believe the suspect is a woman, but this claim has not been confirmed by police.

One of those, Amy Rose, had her vehicle targeted and does not understand what goes through one’s head to commit such an abhorrent act.

“I didn’t even notice at first,” she said.

“On the Monday, a neighbour further down the road asked has your car been swiped by any chance because mine has.

"It had. The mark (which was barely visible) goes from the back where the passenger door would be to the front.

"I told people on an app called Next Door and loads of others had been affected.

"Two doors down down from me live a couple, who have two cars, and there’s are really bad. She has done from the front wheel right to the back and the cut is really deep.

"I have seen other footage where the woman has come from the top of Moorside Road and scratched every car down to the Smiling Mule.

"The corner shop (Fagley Mini Market) has images of her picking cigs up from the floor just outside there.

"I don’t know why you would do it. There are many people on that road that are so mad.”

Leon Bedford left his vehicle at the Smiling Mule overnight and was informed by the landlady of the pub what had happened.

He added: “I called in to the pub after work for a drink and left the van there. The landlady of the pub told me and I had a look at her CCTV. You think it is safe when there are cameras there.

"The damage on mine wasn’t too bad luckily because it is covered in muck from being out on the road. You can just about see the damaged paintwork where she has caught it.”

A spokesperson from the Force said: “Police are investigating reports of damage caused to vehicles in Moorside Road in Eccleshill, which are said to have happened between January 28 and 31.
