REAL Food Ilkley Market will not go ahead on Sunday due to a weather forecast for high winds.
The first market of 2022 was due to take place on The Grove in Ilkley between 10am and 3pm on Sunday, February 6 but a spokesperson for the market posted an announcement on their Facebook page this morning.
They said: "We are very sorry to say that Sunday's Ilkley forecast shows gust speeds at over 40mph for some of the day. Operating in this weather would be a danger to our stallholders, volunteers and the public. It would also put us in breach of our insurance.
"There is no inside alternative for this Sunday so, as we have done successfully in the past, we are planning to postpone the market by one week to Sunday 13th February.
"We make the decision with 48 hours to go so our stallholders do not make and waste."
