A MAN was trapped in a toilet during a house fire in Bradford this morning.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a property on Highfield Road, Frizinghall at 6.10am.
The blaze broke out on the staircase meaning a hose reel, two breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation had to be used.
The man was led out of the toilet to safety by firefighters.
He had suffered smoke inhalation, so first aid was administered by fire crews, and he was left in care of paramedics.
Two appliances from Bradford and one from Fairweather Green station attended along with a fire investigation officer.
When the T&A spoke to Bradford Fire Station at around 8am, firefighters were still at the scene.
Our photographer then attended shortly after and captured two police officers on the doorstep of the property.
A spokesperson from the Service said: "Fire on staircase, one hose reel, two breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation used.
"One adult male was trapped in toilet; fire survival was given by control operator and individual was led to safety by fire service personnel.
"The male suffered smoke inhalation, first aid was administered by fire crews, and he was left in care of paramedics.
"Smoke detection installed and working.
"Two appliances from Bradford and one from Fairweather Green attended along with a fire investigation officer."
